Football Brisbane is recognising the services of a stalwart of football by renaming the Premier Cup in his honour. This gentleman has been involved in our sport in one way or another for over fifty years. He has been a player, a Club President (15 Years), on the Management Committee of the National Soccer League (NSL) and on the board of the Queensland Soccer Federation (QSF),  Football Brisbane  and Football Queensland over a period of 20 years. He has also been honoured with a British Empire Medal as part of the Queens Birthday Honours List for his efforts in sports administration.

Football Brisbane has therefore decided to rename the “Premier Cup” , hence forth to be known as the “Canale Cup” in honour of Mr Guido Canale.

We thank Guido for the many years of selfless service and hope this small token shows our appreciation for the work he has completed and continues performing to this day.
